Marvel comics editor in chief Alex Alonso talked about the future of Iron Fist during CBR's Axel-In-Charge when a fan asked him about the status of Iron Fist. Looks like 2012 will be a great year for Iron Fist. Above is also a teaser of Defender's issue 2 & 3. Here is what the fan asked and Axel's response :

To round out the year, let's get some good, ol' fashioned "What's up with my favorite?" queries out there. We'll start with The Iron Fist, who I'm sure you can guess is asking after a particular Marvel hero: "When will we see the situation with Iron Fist as the Immortal Weapon of Agamotto addressed? It's been a year since it happened, isn't it time he goes back to being the Immortal Weapon of K'un-Lun we all know and love? Thanks for your time!"

Alonso: All I can say is that Iron Fist -- and, indeed, K'un-Lun -- will play a key role in 2012's "Avengers Vs. X-Men." Danny Rand's profile in the Marvel Universe is about to get a whole lot bigger. I've loved this character ever from his first appearance in "Marvel Premiere" #15 to Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction and David Aja's masterful handling of him in "The Immortal Iron Fist." " In 2007, Fraction and co-writer Ed Brubaker kicked off "The Immortal Iron Fist," a highly acclaimed series that focused on Danny Rand and the long legacy of his costumed identity as the chi powered martial arts master Iron Fist. Though the series lasted 27 issues, Fraction left the book with issue #17 believing that he had told all the stories he wanted to with the character.

"When the notion of 'Defenders' became a book about everybody I would love to write, Danny popped back into my head. During 'Fear Itself,' I started to have all these Iron Fist ideas again. Maybe it was because I was using Danny outside the realm of a book I had already written -- I don't know." Fraction told CBR News.""The stuff I loved about Danny back then I still love about him, and now I want to do even more with him. He's still everybody's favorite kung fu billionaire space cadet. It seemed like Danny would be a perfect fit for a group that has to solve all these reality-warping and universe-bending problems. The Defenders will be happy to have somebody who's particularly zen about all this stuff."

Iron Fist's Defender teammates will also be happy to have such a wealthy character in their ranks. In fact, it's that wealth that leads to his initial involvement with the team.

"Danny is getting Rand International back together with the help of a Chinese company. He is the central figure in this new enterprise. He's somewhere between Steve Jobs and Richard Branson -- very much a public face and the Chief Visionary Officer as well," Fraction explained. "The gag we start with is, 'How do you fly this particular group of people around the world? What if they capture Nul? Where do you put him?' So quite simply, Doctor Strange needs a plane. He says, 'I know somebody who has a plane.' Cut to Danny. It's one of those cases where the guy ends up in the band because he's the guy with the van. That's why Danny's here, but it very quickly becomes important that he sticks around.

Iron Fist's skills as a martial artist and his knowledge of the mysticism and high technology used in secret, ancient cities like the one he trained in, K'un Lun, will also be invaluable assets for the Defenders. "One thing that every member of the Defenders will come to realize right away is that they're each unimpeachable masters of their own corner of the Marvel Universe," Fraction said. "You can look at someone like Red She-Hulk or Silver Surfer and break out the rulers and measure yourself, but there is no better kung fu billionaire in the Marvel Universe than Danny Rand. Danny is the only one who can do what he does. That is important. That is vital to the team."

Readers will get their chance to see all that Iron Fist brings to the Defenders in the first issue of the series. When Fraction sat down to pen those initial scenes, he found himself as enthralled by the character as he was when he wrote the first issue of "Immortal Iron Fist."

"It's a 20 page book ,and the first time I wrote Danny again, the scene was more than five pages long. So it was very clear that I missed the character," Fraction said. "It's nice to write him again, and who doesn't want to see Danny Rand do things like invent zero g kung fu? That's just in the first issue! Created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane, Danny Rand was on a trip to the mystical city of K’un L’un as a boy when his parents were murdered. The orphan was taken in by Yu-Ti, the ruler of K’un L’un, who trained Danny in the martial artists.

Eventually, Danny became the best of the best, and attempted to become the holder of “the Iron Fist.” He succeeded, and now possesses the fist, which allows him to focus his chi and enhance his natural abilities to far greater than a normal human, and since Danny is one of the world’s greatest martial artists withOUT said advantage, you can only imagine how helpful that is.

Danny eventually paired up with the hero Power Man, Luke Cage, as the two formed a hero partnership and a great friendship that lasts to this day, even though Danny was missing for a time, and Luke accused of murdering him!

During an acclaimed ongoing series called the Immortal Iron Fist, Danny learns that K’un L’un is just one of Seven Cities of Heaven, each of which has their own version of Iron Fist. Danny has since brought these warriors to Earth with him.

Currently, Danny is a member of the New Avengers alongside his best friend, Luke. He also appears to be getting ready for a significant new role after Fear Itself.

It has been a while since i have seen Danny Rand in a hand to hand combat.Thanks to artist Mike Deodato Junior and writer Brian Michael Bendis, i will see Danny Rand in a hand to hand combat again in their upcoming New Avengers issue 15 issue. Though it looks like a friendly combat it is still good to see Iron Fist's kung fu skills not being wasted. And of course i am pretty sure Danny laid back not to hurt Wolverine if it was a real serious combat, the best there is wont have any chance facing off the immortal weapon.

" AZ: About blankets, we have seen, with some such as Iron Fist # 16 and Green Arrow # 12 you loved the geometric shapes. What do you like about this type of composition?

David Aja : You mention Iron Fist 16. This is the number on the anniversary of Danny Rand, who at age 33. And I do not know if you saw, but there is "33" on the cover. This is my touch. I like many things that come from the movie posters of the 70s. And I try to do things in this style. As for the use of white on the covers on Iron Fist or other, because, looking on the shelves of comic shops, I saw a lot of color, black. And I thought it might work to put a white blanket, it will become clearer. I guess it is.

AZ: Do you like urban characters as Iron Fist, Wolverine, Daredevil ... Have you ever been interested in cosmic history?

David Aja : Probably because of the taste. I love this kind of urban stories, pulp, black. These kinds of things attract me more. And also, I have a line more realistic, so I think I'm better when I draw this stuff. I think I'm better when I draw the characters in solo, in dark places, and things like that. I would not be good at drawing big space battles ... I love Star Wars, but I could not do it. I have a realistic style, I prefer this type of universe and I think I do best."

Defenders series penned by Matt Fraction and pencils by Terry Dodson.The new series was just announced today at San Diego Comic Con"Fear It Self Panel", the result of the typography design teaser released last week.
Matt Fraction talked to CBR on the genesis of his Defenders series and Iron Fist's involvement which will soon be uncovered when Fear It Self wraps up.

"Out of nowhere I started having Iron Fist ideas again. I kept trying to find ways to work him into 'Fear Itself.' So I was looking to take all the stuff that Duane [Swierczynski] did and all the stuff that Brian [Bendis] has done in 'New Avengers' and incorporated that with my own new ideas to tell some new stories," Fraction explained. "Namor is great. He's sort of the voice of imperial truth wherever he goes. He cuts right through the bullshit. So it's always fun to write Namor." - Matt Fraction

" Co-writing with Matt [Fraction] on [The Immortal Iron Fist] was pretty close to how Greg and I did it, at first. And Iron Fist was a book I had been really wanting to write. And Marvel wouldn’t let me write it because I had too much on my plate, so they said if I wanted to do it, I had to bring on a co-writer. And Matt was just getting in at Marvel, and I thought, “Well, I’ll do it with Matt, then.” Because he was doing Punisher, and I know he was looking to do more comic stuff, and we were already friends. It seemed like he would have the right sensibility, so I asked him if he wanted to do it, and he did. And I kind of had bits and pieces of the first Iron Fist arc already figured out, and Matt had a lot of ideas about these women who would turn into cranes, and these villains who wanted maglev trains, and all this stuff that ended up becoming a three-arc-long storyline. So we kind of integrated.

I wanted to do a story about the guy who was the Iron Fist before Danny Rand. That was the thing that always bugged me about Iron Fist. The thought that Danny Rand was the only one, somehow. Yet they had this costume, and this legend of this person who would be the Immortal Iron Fist. I’m like, “Well, these guys are all a thousand years old, and they have this Immortal Iron Fist costume sitting there. There had to have been previous Iron Fists.” That was my main thought on that. “Okay, well, we need to do a story on the previous Iron Fist, who, it turns out, didn’t actually die.” And so Matt and I plotted out the first six issues pretty tightly together. And for the first issue, we divided it up pretty evenly. And then once it was done and lettered and everything, we did a pretty major polish over the lettering, because we had just written too much stuff. I think we were both trying too hard to make sure it was… You’d have to see the non-published version and compare it to the published version. We made some mistakes that you can make when you’re co-writing, where you each accidentally write some similar stuff.

But for the most part, it went pretty smoothly. And after the first arc, and even toward the end of the first arc, Marvel was really pushing me to step away, and Matt didn’t really need me so much. So I was co-plotting, and then I would pick certain seasons to write or rewrite. And all the way through issue 14, from that point on, Matt always wrote the first draft, and then I would go in and tweak stuff or rewrite a few scenes. Certain stuff, I would just take. And when Matt’s first kid was born, there was an issue where we divided up the scenes, and I wrote half and he wrote half, and then I sort of polished everything and made it all fit together perfectly. Because that’s the thing about co-writing: When you do break up the scenes, when you put them all together… Like with Greg and I, we’d plop a thing out, and then we’d have the beat-by-beat outline, and we’d kind of race to see who could finish their half first. And if you finished your half last, you had to be the one to make all the scene transitions look good. [Laughs.] So whoever finished last got to do the cleanup.

"I think the issue of Iron Fist I’m the most proud of is the one I didn’t have anything to do with at all. It was Matt’s last issue and [David] Aja’s last issue. It was the epilogue issue. The one that ends with Danny’s birthday. I just love that issue so much. It was everything I always wanted the Iron Fistcomic to be, and I didn’t have anything to do with it other than reading the script and going, “Hey, great job!”

That was an odd thing, because I always worried that Matt felt like people were giving me too much credit, but at the same time, I felt like, “Well, I want some credit.” Because I did work on stuff. That can be a problem with co-writing. I was a much bigger name than Matt at the time. And reviewers would credit me with something he’d written. What was weird was, working with someone like Matt, who has a really good sense of humor, and would write really oddball dialogue sometimes, that will bring out that part in you when you’re working with him. So there were specific lines of dialogue where I remember reading reviews where someone was like, “That’s such a Fraction line of dialogue,” and I’m like, “I wrote that.” [Laughs.] So it’s kind of funny. Yeah, co-writing is a really mixed bag. Sometimes it’s a lot of fun. And sometimes working with another writer, like someone like Matt, especially… I had a couple of ideas of what I wanted the Iron Fist comics to be when we first started, but I think it became a much more exciting, kinetic kind of thing, because Matt’s energy brought that to it. And Matt was still really learning—I think at that point he had written two or three issues ofPunisher—but he was still really learning the constraints of the 22-pages-a-month Marvel comic, and how much you could or couldn’t do. So he was trying to do so much within it, and a lot of what I was doing was cutting this or cutting that, but because of that, it gave us comics that I think had a different kind of energy than a lot of stuff that was on the stands. And he and I both really loved the idea of this previous Iron Fist, who then allowed us to bring in new pulp-universe kinds of characters.

So our sensibilities are really lined up on a lot of that stuff. It’s like being in a writing room, sometimes. When you’re co-writing with someone, it can feel like a hassle, and sometimes it totally just makes the story better. Same as having a good editor. Sometimes you’re stuck on something and you call your editor up and you tell him what you’re stuck on, and you kick some ideas around. Even if they don’t give you the idea, the kicking-the-ideas-around-with-them part sort of gives you the idea somehow. It’s like House and Wilson. Wilson always helps House whether he means to or not. "

Interview with Antony Johnston on The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu

Coming this summer, writer Antony Johnston and artist Sebastian Fiumara will sparkle the marvel universe with non stop kung fu action in Spider-Island : Deadly Hands of Kung Fu mini series Starring Shang Chi, Iron Fist and Bride of Nine Spiders. I had the chance to interview writer Antony Johnson on his upcoming mini series. Without further ado here is what we talked about.

IFF-How is it like writing iron fist again, and how different will his role be comparing Iron Fist's mini appearance in Shadowland : Blood on the streets to Spider-Island : Deadly Hands of Kung fu.

AJ-Well, Danny's appearance in Blood on the Streets was, indeed, "mini". He wasn't even in costume! But I also wrote him in Daredevil during Shadowland, in Shadowland: After the Fall, and even briefly in the DD one-shot, Cage Match. So I guess I’m just continuing my tradition of using him for guest appearances! But it’s fun, he’s a great character.

IFF-You stated in CBR's interview,"Immortal Iron Fist" is one of the best superhero books of the last decade. Ed Brubaker & Matt Fraction created something really special. In your opinion, what is it about iron Fist that you find very unique and sets him apart from other characters in Marvel Universe?

AJ-It was simply the way Ed and Matt wrote him, and the story as a whole; especially their treatment of the wider Iron Fist canon, expanding it the way they did, and even focusing on secondary characters for whole issues at a time. They just wrote a great story -- the definitive Iron Fist story, in my opinion -- going right through from his origin to facing his future, and made him a really relatable, sympathetic character at the same time.

Danny’s not perfect, he's no angel -- and even with all that power, he messes up from time to time. But he's trying, you know? He's trying to be a better man, and do right by his friends... all while he busts out some hardcore kung fu.

IFF-Is understandable for Bride of nine spiders's involvement because of her powers, are we going to see the other immortal weapons ?

AJ-Mmmmaybe. Iron Fist and the Bride are the main players, though -- aside from Shang-Chi, of course! You'll be seeing plenty of them.

IFF-We have only seen iron fist dealing with relationships in other books, aside from the spider-island issue, are we going to see any other personal challenges or character developments?

AJ-Any time you write a character, you add a little bit to their history and development. But that's not the main focus, here. The main focus of this book is kung fu, and plenty of it.

IFF-Same goes to bride of the nine spiders, little is known about her, is more going to be uncovered?

AJ- A little, sure. But again, it's not the main focus.

IFF-How is it like writing two giant martial artists in the marvel universe in one book? what kind of relationship will be between them? as far as i know there has not been much development between iron fist and shang chi

AJ- There hasn't, and that continues to surprise me. Obviously there are differences between them; Danny has mystical powers, whereas Shang-Chi is "just" a normal man, and their backgrounds and place in the world are very different, too. But there are also similarities, and of course they're both magnificent fighters. There's mutual respect between them, but we've never really seen them work together properly for any length of time. Maybe that should change.

IFF-How is Sebastian Fiumara's artwork coming? and how is it like working with him?

AJ-Seba's great. His character designs are fantastic. He's a really good storyteller, he gets the big martial arts action, and he can do really spooky stuff as well -- which is great, because much of this story is on the spooky, Gothic horror side!

IFF-I am sure both Iron Fist fans and Shang Chi fans will love to see Shang Chi and Iron Fist face-off, any chance that is going to happen? and who do you think will win in your opinion.

AJ-Heh! You'll have to read the book to find out if that's going to happen. I don't think there's any question that Iron Fist would win, because of those mystical powers I mentioned earlier. If he didn't possess the Iron Fist, though... yeah, I reckon Shang could take him.

IFF-Both Iron Fist and Shang Chi put strong efforts in dealing with situations that come their way no matter what it is, what kind of challenges are they going to face?

AJ- It's one they've never faced before, I can tell you that. The thing is, in Spider-Island, normal people get spider-powers. And Shang-Chi, as I said before, is -- despite his extraordinary kung fu skill -- just a normal man. So he'll have to cope with that, at the same time as actually solving the mystery of these strange, recurring nightmares where he's turning into a spider! And, of course, there's plenty of fighting to be done.

I can't really be specific about what they'll be facing, though. You'll have to read it.

IFF-As a fan of immortal iron fist series and your interest in the characters, if you had the chance to write an on going series, in which direction would you want to take Iron Fist and the immortal weapons?

AJ-Honestly, I've never even thought about it. I miss the Immortal Iron Fist series, but I'm not sure I'd want to pick it up myself. It was great as it was, and I don’t think there's much you could do with Danny that wasn't already covered, without taking it off in a radically different direction.

The Immortal Weapons, though -- that's a different kettle of fish. There are plenty of stories you could tell with the group as a whole. For me, the logical direction to go would be a trip round everyone's different realms, across all the different Capital Cities of Heaven. I'd write that.

IFF-Any remarkable moments you want to share? and what can fans expect.

AJ- All the "remarkable moments" are tied into the plot, so I don't want to give them away. Seeing Shang-Chi with spider-powers is pretty darn cool, though.

And what fans can expect is pretty simple: wall-to-wall kung fu action, and more kicks per page than any other Spider-Island book! Guaranteed!

Isaiah Mustafa's Luke Cage Short Film

Looks like Isaiah Mustafa is really pushing the envelope to be Luke Cage, from parody videos to internet campaigns and now a mini short film starring him as Luke Cage. The main focus introducing himself as Luke Caged turned out pretty good.
Like i said before would love to see an actor campaigning to be Iron Fist, if Isaiah Mustafa can pull this off easily, it should not be a problem for potential actors to hold the mantle of Iron Fist.

Just Wow Moment : Look, It's Gas, No It's Prince of Orphans in Mist

Writer Ed Brubaker's Secret Avengers final farewell finished off a mini closing spotlight for Prince of Orphans, helping Steve Rogers and Beast to knock down the fierce and crazy, John Steele in a perfect setting that compliments the always mysterious,Prince Orphans. If familiar with the character, Prince of Orphans, little is known about him and his powers seem limitless. I am glad though his role was not that big, his presence was always relevant. Hopefully, writer Nick Spencer will feature Prince of Orphans again now that he is taking over the Secret Avengers series.

Spinning out of Spider-Island event, writer Antony Johnston and artist Sebastian Fiumara will join Iron Fist and Bride of Nine Spiders with Shang Chi in an action packed deadly kung fu series.
Antony Johnston talked to CBR more on the upcoming series. Here is what he said about Iron Fist and Bride of Nine Spiders.

So the official title of this series is "Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu" and we know that during "Spider-Island" New York is going to become a place of bedlam and chaos thanks to an epidemic of spider-powered people. What can you tell us about the role Shang-Chi plays in helping to quell that chaos? Is "Deadly Hands of Kung Fu" a part of the main story? Or is sort of a separate adventure that develops organically out of the events of "Spider-Island?"

It’s intimately connected to the main story. For one thing, Shang, like many other people, now has spider-powers. The consequences of failure for Shang would be disastrous for everyone, but at the same time, his story is on the periphery.
It’s in the same vein as my "Shadowland" series, "Blood On the Streets;" Spider-Man is in it, so are Iron Fist and the Bride of Nine Spiders, and it’s very firmly rooted in "Spider-Island" and the Marvel U. But you could read this book on its own and it would still make sense.

What sets the events of "Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu" into motion?
It all starts with a recurring nightmare Shang's been having, that he's turning into a spider -- and Madame Web isn't her usual all-seeing self, so all she can tell Shang is that his future is "filled with darkness." I don't want to give away much more than that. Suffice to say Shang soon realizes that both Iron Fist and the Bride of Nine Spiders are connected somehow, and that it's going to require an unusual amount of Kung Fu violence to get to the bottom of this mystery.
As for atmosphere, it’s practically a gothic horror story, very spooky and mysterious. Just with lots more kicking.

You mentioned that Iron Fist and the Bride of Nine Spiders play roles in "Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu." What's it like writing these two Immortal Weapons? How would you describe their dynamic with Shang-Chi in this story?

For me, "Immortal Iron Fist" is one of the best superhero books of the last decade. Ed Brubaker & Matt Fraction created something really special. So getting to write Iron Fist and the Bride is quite a thrill, because I was such a fan of that book, and they're great characters.
It's kind of surprising that Shang-Chi hasn’t crossed over more with the Immortal Weapons, to be honest. You can never have too much kung fu. (Do you sense a theme emerging here?)

Just Wow Moment : Heather Rand's Sacrifice

There is nothing like a mother's love, nothing can be compared to the qualities of a mother. It is not just real life that mother's love can be seen, in comics our own Kung Fu champion, Danny Rand's mother Heather Rand made a big sacrifice to save Danny Rand.

Just a few steps away from entering the gates of K'un Lun, Danny Rand and his mother were attacked by hungry wolves, the only escape route was to stall and distract the wolves in doing so, Heather decided to sacrifice herself so Danny can enter the gates of K'un Lun.Without her actions there is no doubt Danny Rand would have been killed in the incident and there will be no Immortal Iron Fist series.

In honor of Mother's Day, it is only right to reflect and salute Heather Rand.

What is Iron Fist most afraid of?

Fred Van Lente: I think he is most afraid of letting his parents down. They died bringing him to K'un L’un, and he wants to use his martial arts training and wisdom to do as much good in the world so they won't have died in vain.

How does this fear govern his actions?

Fred Van Lente: On the one hand, it drives him to be more than he is. On the other, his single-mindedness can alienate those around him, and drive those who love him further and further away.

Because of that loss suffered at such a young age, do you think Danny intentionally isolates himself so he won't have to feel that pain again?

Fred Van Lente: I do. He had a long relationship with Misty Knight, of course, but that seemed more physical than emotional, and even that ended recently. In many ways he is as isolated and unknowable as the lost city of K'un L’un itself.

Does this fear influence relationships like the one he has with the new Power Man?

Fred Van Lente: It does. Power Man was raised in the exact opposite of the way [Danny] was; rather wild, in the streets. Though his father was absent for most of his life, he was at least alive. And Power Man is more powerful than [Danny] is, with his ability to absorb chi and send it out his fists in the form of explosive punches. That's why [Danny is] so hard on Vic, because he fears the consequences if Power Man loses control.

Do you think Iron Fist’s wariness of companionship and losing it affects how he operates in team settings like with the Avengers and Immortal Weapons?

Fred Van Lente: I do. I think in Avengers Mansion or among the teeming multitudes of Manhattan, he is always alone among many. This level of concentration is what lets him channel his chi into his iron fist, but also leaves a fundamentally lonely, solitary person. That's why his bond with Luke Cage is so strong—in many ways, Luke's the only true friend Danny has ever had.

How was Luke Cage able to pierce the walls of Danny’s insecurities and why has their bond endured and remained so strong in the face of so many challenges?

Fred Van Lente: That's a good question. I think part of it is that Luke has had a hard life himself. Danny's was full of physical hardship and isolation, and the nature of Luke’s problems [was] more socio-economic: Born into poverty, leading a life of crime, sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. It's almost like their differing outsider-ness compliments each other.

Has learning he’s part of bigger things like the Immortal Iron Fist lineage and the Immortal Weapons helped or hindered Danny in combating his fears?

Fred Van Lente: It's always good to have a support group, but if anything it's just given Danny more people to potentially let down.

What would you describe as Danny’s worst nightmare?

Fred Van Lente: Failure. Allowing his friends and loved ones to die because of his own action or inaction.

Just Wow Moment : Orson Randall & The Death Queen of California Cover

If John Woo ever decides to write a comic for Marvel, the character i am pretty sure he will pick will be Orson Randall. Wondering why i am saying that? if you are not familiar with the character, every single thing about him is badass, from his attitude to his shooting skills which he calls Gun Fu,now if you are also familiar with John Woo's movies such as Hard Boiled,The Killer and A better Tomorrow Trilogy, then you get how his lead character traits syncs with Orson Randall's character traits.

Kaare Andrew's cover is one of those that feels like is a cover of it's own that does not relate to any comic related stuff but is still great as it is and even beyond. Artist Kaare Andrews did an excellent job making the cover more realistic with a little minimalistic style to it. Looking at this cover feels just like watching a John Woo movie, with Orson Randall sinking deeply to an infinity black hole but still showcasing his gun fu skills.

The cover also serve as a teaser to the actual storyline for the one shot issue, which was written by Duane Swierczynski with interior art by Giuseppe Camuncoli.

Just Wow Moment : Li Park's Hypnotize Scheme

There have been sixty-six men and women to hold the Iron Fist Mantle, among them is Li Park, an exception of all the Iron fist holders, Li Park was a Pacifist who had no interest in violence but rather manifest his chi into daydream scenarios.

Facing an armed army that was just about to invade a helpless village, the K'un Lun champion used a
non-violent scheme by hypnotizing the army, making them believe they are in a fantasy party rather than a battlefield. The flip side of the technique is, it only works in a period of time, i will leave you to guess what happened next when the army got back to their normal senses, i will highly recommend to read Immortal Iron Fist issue 24 to find out. This issue was written by Duane Swierczynski with pencils by artist Kano.

Writer Rob Williams talked to CBR about his upcoming mini series "Iron Age". He mentioned Luke Cage and Iron Fist role and involement in the mini. Here is what he said as quoted from CBR

"It sounds like you'll be spending a lot of time with Tony Stark! What do you find most interesting about the character?

His arc in "The Iron Age" is that he comes in very cocky and very confident of his ability to fix anything. Then, not only is he faced with repercussions from a flippant act he performed years ago and forgot about, but this one flippant, tiny act dooms the world years later. He couldn't have known that, but it is his responsibility. The world is gone and it isn't because of something he did, but it is because somebody wanted revenge on him. So he feels he needs to put things right. As he goes on, I think he realizes his limitations in this story. He realizes he needs help.
So our celebration of these Marvel characters develops out of the fact that he needs help from them. There's an initial tension in "Iron Age: Alpha" between him and Luke Cage and Danny Rand; especially Luke Cage, who's still a bit pissed off at him over what happened in "Civil War." That's because Luke Cage was on the run with his wife and his newborn baby. It should have been the happiest time for him. So some of the feelings between Tony and Luke are still raw and unresolved "

Just Wow Moment : Meet Confederates of the Curious

One of the many reasons i find Immortal Iron fist series great is the little mini adventures as well as characters that even though had small appearance their impact make the series interesting. Introduced by Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker in Immortal Iron Fist Annual #1,Confederates of the Curious was led by
Orson Randall with Wendell Rand (Danny Rand's Father),Lucky Pierre, Contessa,Chores MacGillicuddy and Shadu the Shady.

Even though just a few of their adventures have been uncovered, the little that is known sparks my interest for more. I personally want more mainly because of Orson Randall and Wendell Rand, no doubt everything that we know about Orson Randall is just mind blowing adrenaline adventure, as far as Wendell, though he did not become an Iron Fist but rather Orson Randall's protege, it is pretty much clear he had a wild life following the steps of Orson Randall. Hopefully when Iron Fist gets his own on-going series more will be uncovered.

On that note, if you have not read their adventures, i will highly recommend to read Immortal Iron Fist

At the final day of Chicago Comics And Entertainment Expo also known as C2E2,writer Fred Van Lente re-confirmed today during Marvel's Next Big Thing Panel that Iron Fist will play a big role in Fear It Self event as well as appearing in Nick Spencer's Iron Man 2.0 with Immortal Weapons.

Also PowerMan (Vic Alvarez) will appear in a tie-in book that features Amadeus Cho. I am guessing the above images is Iron Fist and Luke Cage appearance in Rob William's Iron Man mini series Iron Age.

There is a big debate going on among Marvel creators concerning Iron Fist's costume, whether they should stick to the white costume or the green costume. During Fear It Self and Marvel Next Big Thing panels and the creators asked the fans to decide which costume they prefer, and most of the fans voted the green costume.

Just Wow Moment-David Aja's Land of the Rising Sun : Iron Fist Samurai Mode

The past few days have been sad and terrifying for Japan, being hit with earthquakes and tsunami. My heart goes out to everyone in Japan and i hope they get back on their feet. Aside from the terrifying issues the country is facing,their culture and arts still reign, even in the book of Immortal Iron Fist.

Artist David Aja as usual stepped up his artistic skills adding Japanese Samurai theme to match the aftermath of a clash between hydra agents,Heroes For Hire,Orson Randall and Davos. Though it was just one small panel, the significance of it is superior. Mainly because within a split second, Danny Rand switched into a Samurai mode ready to use Colleen Wing's(who is of Japanese descent) sword to interrogate a Hydra agent by using the Samurai way of interrogation. Which was very fitting and cool,David Aja using yellow and red colors to represent the rising sun as well as matching the color of the glowing blade of the sword and Danny's furious eyes.

As far as the result of Danny's interrogation, as you can see the Hydra agent gave the wrong answer, I will leave it to those who have not read the issue to find out. This is from Immortal Iron Fist issue six.

The Immortal Weapons slowly are making big impacts in Marvel Universe, saving the day one at a time. First it was K'un-Lun's own champion Iron Fist ending SHADOWLAND with his chi punch, now Prince of Orphans and Steve Roger's Black Ops Unit,saved Shang-Chi from his evil father,Zheng Hu who made an attempt to sacrifice Shang-Chi to be fully resurrected from the dead.

As always Prince of Orphans special moves are quick and unpredictable, and apparently this particular punch was powerful enough to take Zheng Zu back to his grave.This is from Secret Avengers issue 10 written by

Ed Brubaker and pencils by Mike Deodato Junior.

I am guessing this will pave the way for Fat Cobra and hopefully other Immortal Weapons to also make an impact for their upcoming feature in Nick Spencer's Iron Man 2.0 issue 5.

TIM STEVENS (looking over his notes): All right. From what I have here, Joy Meachum, the woman who helps run the Rand Foundation, urged you both to come in for this session today.

POWER MAN: She said if we didn’t, she’d quit.

And then Mister Super Hero here got all scared and made nice. So here we are. ‘Cause dude doesn’t know how to talk to women.

TS: I see. Well, Victor—

PM: You can just call me Vic.

TS: Sure. Vic, then. I try to avoid attempts to mock other people in session, especially during conflict resolution sessions like this. So, while I appreciate you telling me what happened, next time, please do so without making light of Daniel. Now, Daniel, would you like to tell me your perspective on why you are here?

IRON FIST: It is, more or less, what Vic said. Joy said that she knew of you through a friend and that this would do our partnership some good. I talked to some people that were aware of you and they seemed to agree you do good work. And yes, she did threaten to quit.

TS: Okay. But what I am more interested in is what led her to feel the need to make that threat? Can either of you explain that?

PM: I am guessing she saw how annoying he is, bossing me around all the time. Got sick of him acting like I’m his...grasshopper or whatever that bald guy was called.

TS: So you feel like Daniel here is too…strict in the way he teaches you?

PM: Too strict, yeah. And way too slow, too. It’s always,

Begins to imitate Iron Fist’s voice and mannerisms.

“Well, Vic, the world is a complicated place,” or “It is important to do the right thing, Vic. But we must know all the facts before we can know what the right thing is.”

Drops the imitation.

It’s like that. All day. Every day. I agreed to be his partner, not the guy he keeps around so he has someone to tell what to do.

IF: I own an entire company. I can boss people around all the time if I want to, Vic. Believe me, corporate life is a lot easier than this.

TS: Maybe, maybe. But do you hear what Vic is saying, Daniel? His expectation, to be treated like an equal, isn’t being met. How do you feel about that?

IF: I am sorry if I gave him the impression that that was the way it was going to—

TS: Tell him, not me.

IF (adjusting his seat towards Vic): I am sorry if I made you think we’d be partners out of the gate. I’m your Mas—teacher, your sensei. For now, at least. Partners is something for the future, maybe. When you earn it.

TS: Does that clarify things for you, Vic?

PM: Yeah. It clarifies to me that he’s still hung up on oppressing me.

TS: I’m not sure that’s wha—

PM: That’s exactly what he’s saying! I have to “earn” the right to be equal? I’m more powerful than he is and invulnerable! My costume looks better! I’m part of the neighborhood, not just some…tourist! If you ask me, the only one who has to prove equality on this is him.

TS: I see. I can tell this upsets you a lot. Daniel, what do you think about what Vic is saying?

IF: I think he’s arrogant. He’s right: He’s more powerful. He’s invulnerable. But he’s also been wearing the gear for a very short period of time. He takes unnecessary risks. He makes snap judgments based on little or no evidence. He sees everything as extremes and either can’t or won’t acknowledge the world isn’t really like that.

PM: Why bother with me then, dude? If I suck so much?

IF: That’s not what I—

TS: No, it isn’t. But it is pretty clear that’s what Vic is hearing. So I think it’s a good idea if you do tell him why you think he’s worth your attention. What his strengths are, that kind of thing.

PM (turning away slightly): This’ll be good.

IF: Well…obviously…there’s the power. He’s got so many gifts, you can’t just ignore that. And he really does care. I don’t always agree with the choices he makes because of that, but it is clear he is doing things for the right reasons. I don’t know…he’s smart. He enjoys life and that’s rare for a lot of costumed heroes. Plus, he reminds me of my responsibilities…of not just hurting some people to save some others, but of bringing peace and knowledge to others.

TS: Excellent. How’d that make you feel, Vic?

PM: Fine…I guess. Weird. A little uncomfortable. I was worried he was going to start crying or something.

TS: Okay, okay. Remember what I said about mocking others here, especially when people are being authentic and open. Now let me ask you, Vic, if Daniel is such a problem for you, why are you still working with him?

PM: Because he’d probably steal my power or something if I didn’t?

TS: Really?

PM: Oh come on, man. Do I have to do this?

TS: I think it would be helpful, yes.

PM: Fine. He’s…he’s kind of cool, alright? He’s, like, an Avenger. He’s beat up all sorts of bad guys. And I know I cracked on him about women before, but you should see some of the ladies in his photo album. It’s insane! He’s been doing this for a long time so I figure he must be doing something right, right? Can’t hurt to learn that, I guess.

TS: Great. Thank you, Vic. I hope you heard that, Daniel, and took it to heart, too. It seems to me that you two really do like and respect each other. But also that you, Daniel, might have a hard time giving positive feedback at the same time as constructive criticism. Would you say that’s fair?

IF shrugs slightly and looks off in the distance.

TS: And you, Vic, you might push past the boundaries, even though you know where they are?

PM: I plead the fifth.

TS: Fine. Okay. I can see neither of you are quite there yet, but I think both of you feel the truth of what I’ve pointed out here. I think it’d be helpful for you two to come in some more, but in the meantime, just remember that you do like and respect each other. That it is okay for people in a partnership, especially a new one like this, to disagree from time to time and that sometimes those disagreements can be heated. But, and here’s the important part, all that…passion come from a real desire to make this work and to see each other do well.

PM: That sounds…so hokey.

IF smirks a little. PM notices.

PM: Come on. You know it does.

TS: Be that as it may, when you feel the need to disagree with each other, find a way to remind each other first of the qualities you like and respect. I think you’ll find it will make the arguments a lot less ugly, make Joy a lot happier, and make your team-ups a lot more functional.

Iron Fist Marvel vs Capcom 3 Appearance

Though Iron Fist was not part of the playable characters for Marvel Universe in Marvel vs Capcom 3, he made a small appearance in Ryu's ending with a tease of the two characters about to face off. I hope this means Iron Fist will be a part of the next installation.

Since it was just discovered Iron Fist does not have a driver's license, i decided to make an official driving license for him to avoid being caught driving without a license

Coming to think of it, i do understand why he does not have a license, he spent most of his life in a different dimension and even now his life in New York city is based mostly on him being a hero,he barely live like a normal New Yorker.
I wonder what other Danny Rand every day life related mystery will be unveiled. At least we know Danny can drive and make it look fun.

Danny Rand made his smashing Heroes for Hire debut facing off Paladin.Apparently, punching a moving train was not enough, though this time his strike was a lesser one, i was surprised to see the impact of his chi to end the confrontation,visually Artist Brad Walker did an incredible job penciling the scene. Reminded me of Fat Cobra's Cudgel of Misfortune move he used facing off Iron Fist.

PS the last page of the issue definitely sparked my interest on the upcoming issues. Make sure to get your copy if you have not.

Isaiah Mustafa Wants to be for Hire as LUKE CAGE

Yes it is the guy in Old Spice Commercial and now instead of advertising, Isaiah Mustafa's only wish is to be a Hero For Hire and the sidekick of our own Iron Fist. He tweeted on his birthday " All i want for my birthday is to be Luke Cage. Work your magic internets ! #SweetChristmas! "

Surprisingly he got a response from the Official Marvel Entertainment Twitter, stating "We Loved you as Luke Cage" for the parody video he did with Marvel. Could this mean Marvel is officially co-signing his campaign?
Only time will tell.

To prove he is really serious, he actually has a Isaiah Mustafa as Luke Cage Facebook page as well as a photo shoot he did solely for the campaign to be Luke Cage.

Is amazing the effort he is putting to be Luke Cage, which is really great to push Marvel for an Iron Fist/Heroes For Hire movie. As far as other actors wanting to be Iron Fist, so far only Ray Park is urging to be Iron Fist, which i think is not enough, would be great to see more actors campaigning to be Iron Fist and make Iron Fist movie a reality.

Writer Rick Spears and Artist Tim Green II took readers to a dark and tragic journey of the Chinese under ground world surrounding Dog Brother # 1 and two helpless needy boys in a midst of street criminals.Readers discovered for the first time the fighting skills of Dog Brother # 1 and i must say it was a bloody one.Warning the page contains horrific and graphic materials.

Artist Tim Green II brought to life the true meaning of each special move,though all the moves are jaw breaking and unimaginable, if i had to choose one favorite, obviously the highlight of the page Cut of Lex Talionis. Dog Brother's move was perfect and sharp that the victim did not even feel he was cut and rather asked him "Did Did you miss?"
Finishing him off with Standard issue Punch, Dog Brother simply replied "I Never Miss"
I think this should be a warning to characters in the Marvel Universe (specifically to Deadpool) not to ever face off Dog Brother # 1 in a sword fight.
