Fred Van Lente Interview part 2

IFF: One thing am really excited for is what you said giving back Danny rand's title "kung fu billionaire" how will u do that since on Duane's ran Danny lost his corporation?

FVL: He didn't lose it so much as he transformed it into the charitable Rand Foundation, headed by he and Luke's old secretary Jennie Royce. As we learn in PM&IF, one of the Rand Foundation's missions is exonerating wrongly convicted people -- and when Danny's old ally El Aguilia is falsely accused of murder (or so he claims), Power Man and Iron Fist have their first case together, which runs them through a gauntlet of familiar villains as well as brand new ones like Don Pagliacci, the Commedia dell'Morte and the mysterious and seductive Noir

IFF: Speaking of what Duane left of Danny was to be come a father, will that still be a part of his life if it is so how will u continue and build him as a character to be a super hero and at the same time a Father
FVL: Like I said, he and Misty's relationship will take some interesting turns.

IFF: What is Wellinton's work also like in Powerman & Iron Fist mini, compared to what Mahmud Asrar is doing. Do you have any favorite among the two?

FVL: I worked with Wellinton on MARVEL ZOMBIES RETURN where he impressed the heck out of me with his Avengers chapter and his art's even better now than it was then. He's really going to turn some heads with this book, but back off, other Marvel writers! He's mine! All mine!

IFF: What will be the status of the original Heroes for hire cast thus Misty knight,Luke Cage,Danny & collen is there going to be an ongoing same also as the status of Iron Fist solo books and what about the immortal weapons will we see them also?

FVL:We have so many returning POWER MAN & IRON FIST characters and so many new ones I'm not sure if significant roles remain for the Immortal Weapons, but obviously they're big parts of Danny's life so I can see them making a cameo or two.

IFF: What should fans expect from both books interms of concepts and theme and any last words?
FVL: I want to bring back the ethos of the original PM&IF book, which is that a title can be both "street" and "fun". Not everything is doom and angst and gloom in the steel and stone canyons on the big city. Leave that stuff to Daredevil. We're all about kung fu action, insane and colorful villains, tantalizing mysteries, and the return of the best damn buddy team book in comics.

There you have it folks looks it will be one exciting book you do not want to miss like Fred said "
As with all things, if enough fans support the book, there will be more. So I would encourage each and every person reading this interview to buy between six and ten copies of each issue. Sell your blood and plasma as necessary." Is up to us the fans to support the book if we want a big future for Iron Fist.

I was so thrilled to see Power Man Iron Fist being rebooted, but I'm uncertain about this new guy... Still, if Fred van Lente is hoping to recreate the chemistry of Mary Jo Duffy's classic run, you can count on me being on board. van Lente's recent work on Spidey reveals a writer who loves character, so I'll definitely take a punt on this series.

I'm in. Not only does Van Lente seem to really have a genuine love for these characters, it's just an awesome sign that he's able to spare his time to do interviews with fans of the character this way.

Great job IFF!

Thanks Dan..There is nothing like a writer who is in love with the character, i think what is left is support in terms of sales if it is high am sure we will get more of Iron Fist
